DESCRIPTION:Baroque Orchestra of Maine\, also known as BOOM\, was founded in 2010 with the mission to engage and educate a wide audience in rural Downeast Maine about baroque period instrument performance by presenting concerts in accessible\, eclectic\, non-traditional concert venues. This non profit ensemble has been bringing joy and education to the area ever since with their dynamic and engaging concerts. \n\n\n\nHeidi Powell\, baroque violin and Raffael Scheck\, baroque cello of BOOM will present a program of music featuring works by Vivaldi\, Handel\, Torelli & di Lasso. The musicians will also share with the audience about their specialized instruments\, music history\, the composers and the beauty and depth of these masterpieces. SUMMARY:Lucia: The Secret of Shooting Stars
DESCRIPTION:Vladimir\, a polar bear\, and James\, a penguin\, travel into space aboard the Polaris to study polar auroras.  Hit by a meteorite\, they crash at the foot of a pre-Columbian pyramid and meet Lucia\, a hummingbird who is passionate about rocks. She tells them about a legend evoking “stones of light”.  Meteorites\, shooting stars\, these “stones of light” intrigue them all.  Searching for answers\, they board for the Moon\, then the asteroid belt\, and finally land on a comet nucleus.  Observations and analyses will allow them to find answers to their questions about these objects and learn about the origin of the solar system. \nWatch the trailer here! \n  \n\n  \nTickets for planetarium programs are $7 for Adults\, $6 for UMaine Students/Veterans/Senior Citizens\, and $5 for children under 12.
