Event Series Event Series: Discover the Sky with Galileo

Discover the Sky with Galileo

July 14, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In ancient times, Greek astronomers understood that planets are not like the stars, because they move in a different way in our skies. Why do they move the way they do? What are they made of? And what about the Moon? Is it really a perfect object with a smooth surface? To answer these questions, we have the need to give a closer look to the sky using something that can make our sight sharper and deeper. It’s from this need that our story begins.

This is a special presentation from Ms. Elena Lazzaretto. Ms. Lazzaretto began her career as Scientific Communicator with the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (www.inaf.it) and began working at the Planetarium of Padova in 2011 where she is the planetarium astronomer and an educator with extensive knowledge about full-dome live show scripting, computer graphics, sound design and event organization. She is also a Freelance Scientific Communicator and teaches Math and Physics at High Schools in Padova, Italy.
