From Galileo’s simple telescopes in the 17th century to the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) launched in 2021, each new generation of telescopes has brought us closer to unlocking the mysteries of the cosmos. These amazing instruments have played a critical role in our understanding of our place in the universe. From the discovery of the moons of Jupiter by Galileo to the incredible images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope, each new generation of telescopes has expanded our knowledge of the sky above.
Join Elena Lazzaretto, planetarium astronomer from Planetario di Padova and Shawn Laatsch, Director of the Versant Power Astronomy Center as they share a bit about the journey from Galileo to JWST and reveal one of the most recent JWST images.
